Why do you think you are a good candidate for this position?

Being a good candidate for this position goes hand in hand with an enthusiasm and excitement for both the position and the club itself and I believe that I display each of those qualities. Since becoming a part of the Pre-Vet club, I have been inspired by the overwhelming opportunities that the club makes available to its’ members. I would like to be apart of continuing to provide these opportunities and even furthering them for future members.


What ideas will you bring to the Pre-Vet Club?

I would like to bring many new and exciting ideas to the Pre-Vet Club. This year’s Chili Cook-off inspired one of the ideas that I am most excited about. In addition to making the cook-off an annual event and a bigger part of Ag Week, I would like to get another annual food competition started for the spring semester. I believe that events like these attract a lot of people and therefore get the club noticed and could also potentially be used as a fundraiser. As with this idea, my general priority is to help make the club more visible to the rest of the Iowa State community by promoting new and exciting events and our club in general.


What is the primary goal of this position for the 2008-2009 academic year?

The primary goal for this position is both simple and important. I want to bring ideas and the enthusiasm that I have for this field to the position, while still incorporating the opinions and thoughts of other club members. I believe that the greatest thing that someone in an elected position can do is to listen and make decisions with the people around them.


If not elected, how would you contribute to the club?

While not being elected would be a disappointment, it would be even more unfortunate to not continue to be an important part of the club. If not elected, I would still contribute to the club in the same enthusiastic manner. I would remain involved in activities and would continue to contribute as many ideas as I can. In truth, nothing would change from my current involvement and dedication to the Pre-Vet Club.
