Why do you think you are a good candidate for this position?
I believe I am a good candidate for this position because I am very reliable, organized, posses good time management skills and a perfectionist. I will take detailed minutes and get them sent out in a timely manner. I don’t procrastinate so I will get my duties done, and do them well. Most importantly, I am very excited to get more involved in PVC and this is my last chance to really do so. Next year as a senior, I will have a lighter class load, so I won’t have any trouble getting things done. I’ll be able to be more involved and contribute as much as I can to the club.

What ideas will you bring to the club?
I have a few ideas that I would like to contribute. For a fundraiser, I think it would be fun to hold a pet wash for the area. It would be like kind of like a car wash, but for people’s pets =) It would be fun way for members to get involved, and it would also be good advertising for the club. I also have a couple people in mind that the club could ask to come speak. One would be for the equine interest group and the other for the ZEWIG. Also as secretary, I would really like to attend as many speakers as possible and take notes for those that aren’t able to attend. If there were several members that really want to attend, but can’t, they would be able to shoot me an email and I will try my best to go, take notes, and send the information to them.

What is the primary goal of this position for the 2008-2009 academic year?
My primary goal as secretary is to take accurate and detailed minutes and to send them out to all the members in a timely fashion so everyone knows what’s going on and can stay involved. In addition, as mentioned above, I would like to attend as many speakers as I can and take notes for those who want them because they weren’t able to attend.

If not elected, how would you contribute to the club?
If not elected secretary I would run for another position. However, if all else fails, I will still continue to be an active member of the club by attending activities, contribute my ideas, and take on any other responsibilities offered.
