Name: Samantha Voelkner
Major: Animal Science Pre-Vet
Position: Member
Classification: Senior

Why do you think you are a good candidate for this position?
I have experience managing a college organization budget. I was the Lake Superior College Student Senate Treasurer for over two years. During this time I managed a budget of twenty-six thousand dollars, made all the deposits, and completed all the expenditures. Also, I am a hard worker who is able to put in the time and energy this position requires.

What ideas will you bring to the Pre-Vet Club?
- Good communication between myself and the members of the club so that they know what is going on with the club’s money.
- Brainstorming with fellow members on how to improve the position of treasurer.
- Creating a packet of procedures which includes information for future treasurers about the position and its duties.
- Working with the constitution review committee to stay up to date on what is required of the treasurer in the constitution.

What is the primary goal of this position for the 2008-2009 academic year?
The primary goal would be to effectively and efficiently manage the budget. This would include things like keeping accurate records of expenditures and deposits, keeping the members of the club updated on the club’s financial situation, and making sure that all expenditures are approved by the appropriate people.

If not elected, how would you contribute to the club?
I would continue to attend all of the club meetings along with continuing to participate in the equine interest group activities and the pet sitting/dog walking committee. I would also attend activities that I am interested in put on by other interest group chairs.
